An Overview About Nursing Articles

Nursing articles with international content were more frequently written than were non international articles. The study provides a baseline indication of the extent of international perspectives in published nursing articles. Articles deal with any of the processes of science, including research, theory development, concept analysis, practical application of research and theory, and investigation of the values and ethics that influence the practice and research endeavors of nursing articles.

Acceptance or rejection of an article is based on the judgment of peer reviewers. Articles are contributed by anyone anywhere on the globe, and can be edited by anyone. A record of the current status is maintained so if someone defaces or otherwise makes objectionable changes the original can be restored with just a click.

Online journals now available through VIVA offer broad support for nursing articles at many levels. For example, a student beginning an emergency clinical rotation will be able to go online to find articles on the latest ER diagnostic techniques for stroke victims; articles will include charts, tables and other graphics — even some samples of EKGs and diagrams showing proper placement of electrodes.

Online resources below whose access is labeled “Free to all” are accessible to everyone, both on and off SMU campuses. Resources labeled “Restricted” are accessible off SMU campuses only to currently enrolled SMU students (does not include alumni), SMU staff, and SMU faculty, clinical faculty, and faculty emeritus; access is gained by entering your SMU and password when prompted to put one in.
